Background
I am Turkish, born and raised in Germany. For nearly 10 years, I worked as a consultant for one of the top strategy consultancy firms. Before that, I studied mathematics and completed a PhD in statistics.
Decision to move to Istanbul
I lived in Germany my entire life, but in 2023, we decided to move to one of the most beautiful cities on this planet. For us it is Istanbul and particularly along the mesmerizing Bosphorus. I’ve travelled extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, but Istanbul was the only place where we truly felt happy. That’s when we decided to move here.
Property investments in Istanbul
As a consultant, I worked very long hours, but was fortunate to earn a very good income. Regarding personal investments, I took a bold approach and went all in on properties in Istanbul. I bought my very first property in the city in 2018 and since then, I’ve acquired many more.
Financial independence
For me, the property investments in Istanbul just made a lot of sense since I see a lot of value in this city. Over time, the rental income from our investments covered all our moderate recurring expenses, enabling us to achieve financial independence. This financial freedom has been a complete game changer.
