Overview: EspressoLAB
EspressoLab is Türkiye’s most popular coffeehouse chain.
Founded in Istanbul, EspressoLab is growing rapidly. There are over 200 shops in Türkiye and nearly 100 across 11 countries
(as of November 2024).
I will show three standout cafés of EspressoLAB in Istanbul:
- EspressoLAB Büyükdere (old ferry port)
- EspressoLAB Merter Roastery
- EspressoLAB Taksim Tünel
EspressoLab is also highly popular among students, startups and remote workers for its work-friendly environment.
1) EspressoLAB Büyükdere (old ferry port)
Let’s start with EspressoLAB Büyükdere.
Once an old ferry port, this space has been transformed into an elegantly designed café.
The upper terrace offers an amazing view of the Bosphorus.
EspressoLab puts a lot of emphasis on design and architecture.
In larger branches like this one, you can find a wide selection of sandwiches, and both savoury and sweet desserts.
2) EspressoLAB Merter Roastery
Next is the EspressoLAB roastery in Merter. What was once an old factory, is now the largest coffeehouse in all of Europe.
There is a very spacious garden. Many events like concerts, film screenings and workshops take place here.
Self-service is standard across all EspressoLab locations.
And customers can stay as long as they like without being bothered.
EspressoLAB Taksim Tünel
Number three is the shop on Istiklal street.
This place is very centrally located, unlike the more remotes ones in Büyükdere and Merter.
